An ongoing series of works drawing on scientific imaging (cosmological hydrodynamics coding) of dark matter (invisible mass), combined with stock-cosmic fictions and seductive digital materialisations.

-

'Call to A Dark Image' stages a dialogue between the San Diego Super Computer Center ENZO Visualization Service and an alluring image of dark matter. ENZO calls to the dark image, proposing various generic dark lures from 100mph post-punk French darkwave rock to dense and dark post-acid italo-disco amalgamations.

-

'A Dark Image' combines material from a Google Image search for 'cosmic incomprehensibility' with scientific attempts to visualise the unmeasurable. A dark image crosses the light and just as quickly it's gone.

BACK WHEN
Mobile phones were still dumb. Letters travelled by pneumatic air. Tweeting was mainly done by the birds. Users were chatting on the Minitel. IRC was already not so popular. Xerox challenged the Thermofax. YouTube was still another Web 2 start-up. Fax was the new Telex. You were calling up Bulletin Board Systems. World economy believed in itself. Only schools were using Facebook. We had nine planets.?
PLUTO WAS A PLANET.
